Hi there,

Welcome to another edition of the Productivity Wednesday article. As it has been the tradition of this piece to have new themes for every month, starting with the first Wednesday. But I saw a need to discuss Job Shadowing under the Mentoring theme we started in March and that wrapped up the subject. This month we will be discussing the theme: Personal Development.

I feel like this is timely because a lot of people lose focus and steam of their goals as the year progresses or after the first quarter of the year is done and they haven’t attained much. We always have to know that losing steam or giving up is the easy way out and nothing of great value happens in the comfort zone. Personal development holds the access control to the many gains you hope to achieve.

Personal development is activities that develop a person’s capabilities and potential, improve human capital, increase employability chances, and enhance the quality of life and the realization of dreams and aspirations. There is no time limit for personal development because as we know it; learning never ends. Personal Development is a lifelong process, and it is a way for people to constantly audit and assess their skills and qualities, consider their aims in life, and set goals in order to attain their maximum potential. Personal development is not just restricted to your physical and career life but cuts across every area that directly or indirectly affects your physical and career life. These areas range from emotional, psychological, spiritual, mental, and social. Take conscious steps and decisions to continually develop yourself in every area.

Welcome to knowing you more, loving you more, and becoming a better you! Until I come your way again, stay safe, work smart, and not just hard.
